Session 1 – Self Direction for People with Complex Needs – When All Means All
In order for Self-Directed Supports and Services to become a reality for all people particular attention needs to be considered for how this may eventuate for people who are considered most vulnerable.
Self–Directed Supports and Services enables people to have choice and control over the planning, design and implementation of the services and supports they require. It is recognised that some people living with disability may not have the life experience and/or skills to develop plans and make independent choices without meaningful support and guidance along the way.
This workshop will explore how service providers can ensure that Everyone, no matter what level of impairment, including those people deemed to have high support needs are able to exercise choice and control in their life when the right values, conditions and support is at the forefront of service delivery.
