Working with People with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI): Tricks of the Trade
Would you like to understand the effects of acquired brain injury on thinking and behaviour, and identify strategies to address these effects?
Staff who support clients with an ABI should attend this course to:-
- Understand what an ABI is and the signs and symptoms of an ABI and some key medical terminology;
- Understand the effects of Acquired Brain Injury on thinking, motivation and behaviour;
- Using theoretical models and practical case scenarios to identify effective behaviour management strategies;
- Support people with an ABI to be self-directed regarding participation in community life; and
Receive resource DVD, written notes and pamphlets to consolidate learning.
