Building Support Networks

Starting a circle of support involves the intentional building of relationships around a person who might be vulnerable because of disability. They are based on an understanding of the importance of relationships in our life and our need to belong in the community.

The "Circles Initiative" in South Australia is a successful and longstanding project that develops and builds networks of support for people who have a disability. Katrina will share stories about people who have developed a "Circle of Support" and discuss the lessons that they have learned over the years.
