Helen Cooke Downunder Tour: Graduate Recruitment - Attracting People With Disabilities
The business case for employing graduates with disabilities is compelling. In fact, failure to develop an inclusive recruitment program including graduates with disabilities carries a high level of risk.
Available data in Australia indicates that around 5% of new graduates have a declared disability, but the percentage is growing. In the UK and USA, its already above 10%. The trend in Australia is anticipated to be similar. Employers and recruiters are becoming increasingly interested in redressing this imbalance. It makes good business sense to have access to the full range of available talent.
Helen Cooke is a HR professional, disability consultant, trainer and speaker in the UK, and is recognised for her significant role as an agent for change. We are delighted that Helen has agreed to share the knowledge and expertise she has developed through her work with key employers in the UK.
The Australian tour is scheduled to take place over two weeks in May 2013, in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Helen will present at the Australian Network on Disability annual conference as well as facilitating a series of workshops for employers and university staff.
