Sector Training Activities

Marketing from the Frontline

This workshop has been developed by Forte Training and National Disability Services as a result of an identified need across the Disability Services Sector.

The workshop aims to support frontline workers and managers in the disability sector:

  • to develop practical soft marketing techniques that can be used to assist in understanding the mindsets of customers when choosing a disability service provider;
  • in knowing when and where to use soft marketing skills to influence an individual's decision; and
  • in understanding what service means in a more commercial environment under the NDIS.

Specifically, the workshop will introduce you to:-

  • Organisational growth – how change impacts on future success
  • The switch model – linked to funding model changes
  • The Power Balance – frontline squeeze
  • Leading as a role model, being an agent of change
  • Practical techniques: mindset, behaviour, action & influence
  • Soft Marketing, what it is, how it work, why it’s so vital under the NDIS
  • Who are you as an organisation?
  • What role do you play?
  • How can you influence this positively?
  • The 9 client filters – stories of emotional value
  • Influence and Brand promise, demonstration of choice and branding power
  • Action plan of areas to implement

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Brainstorm further ideas relevant to your specific situation
  • Identify solutions to particular challenges faced in your organisation
  • Consider more tangible ways to influence others (clients, colleagues, etc)
  • Develop a better understanding of the NDIS from a historical perspective
