Strengthening Safer Services Forum
NDS and Curtin University invite people with disability, families and carers, and staff from WA disability services organisations to contribute and provide input into making services safer for people with disability.
How can you help? A free Strengthening Safer Services forum will be held in four locations around Western Australia.
The aim of the forum is to help us better understand how disability service providers can keep people with disability safe as well as what they can do to improve.
On the day, you will be:
- Provided an overview of safeguarding activities, initiatives and inquiries currently being undertaken in WA;
- Supported to explore and identify opportunities to strengthen and improve the safety and quality of services provided to people with disability; and
- Involved in a focus group where you will be asked about your experiences in either accessing or providing disability supports and how safe you believe disability services are. This will facilitated by Curtin University School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work.
Participant feedback and areas of opportunity will contribute to the Safer Services Research Project and the development of resources for disability service organisations.
