Who’s decision is it?
Don’t miss this interactive workshop which will develop your understanding of the impact guardianship administration has on the opportunities for people with disability to express choice and control over their supports and services.
With the introduction and trials of the NDIS across Australia there is increased focus on supporting and ensuring people with disability enjoy the freedom to make independent choices. But how can people with disability who are considered vulnerable and have a legally appointed guardian, administrator, or some other legal agreement in place have a voice in the decision-making process?
This interactive workshop will develop your understanding of:
- The scope of current Western Australian Guardianship Laws in comparison with laws in other states and territories.
- The definition and implications of various legal agreements, this includes but is not limited to Guardianship Orders, Administration Orders, Advance Care Orders, and Advance Health Directives.
- How decision-making capacity is determined.
- The impact of Guardianship and Administration on individual decision-making under an NDIS – what you need to know.
- What decision-making frameworks are and how can they be used in your organisation.
