Job Overview: |
Key Areas of Responsibility: Abide by and promote LGSFSA policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct, Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines and “Confidentiality” documents • Provide support and encouragement to the client to develop skills and participate in the community • Provide assistance with daily routine activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, cleaning/home duties, dressing, eating, and medication • Attend to the individual’s physical and material well-being and safety, while encouraging independence • Provide opportunity to feedback on activities done, communication between family and support worker. (A Communications Book needs to be completed if one is available |

Based in Albany on the south coast of WA the Lower Great Southern Family Support Association (LGSFSA) was formed in 1991 and exists as a non-profit independent agency, providing support structures to People with Disabilities and their families to maximise personal well-being, choice and inclusion. The LGSFSA has a strong commitment to providing a quality values-based service, and the agency believes all people can live in and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive community. The association is also able to provide supports to people who are eligible for Disability Services Commission registration but who may be funded privately. LGSFSA currently supports in excess of 85 clients, ranging in age from 0 to 70 years, including people with high and multiple support needs; people with sensory, intellectual and cognitive disabilities; people with Autism, and people with physical disabilities including Acquired Brain Injury. |
