Event Overview: Effective communication skills ensure harmonious relationships with colleagues, managers and subordinates. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your professionalism in the workplace. Suitable for support workers, frontline staff and managers. At the end of this workshop, attendees will have: ¨ improved listening and questioning skills ¨ improved skills in establishing rapport with people they support and people they work with ¨ improved ability to face up to conflicts in the workplace ¨ learnt how to say “No” and feel OK about it ¨ practised a model of communication to follow when working with people ¨ Identified a checklist to monitor their own communication skills There will be plenty of opportunities to practice: ¨ active listening ¨ types of questions and how to ask them ¨ paraphrasing, summarising and reflecting back ¨ engaging people ¨ moving conversations forward ¨ having directed conversations (rather than cozy little chats!)
