A Harm-Minimisation Approach to Self-Injury & Health Giving Strategies
A HARM-MINIMISATION APPROACH TO SELF-INJURY: Self-Injury (also known as self-harm) is a complex and often misunderstood experience. There is a significant level of stigma surrounding this topic and people who experience it are often highly vulnerable. This workshop focuses on the harm-minimisation approach as an effective and empathic way of dealing with self-injury in the short and long term.
HEALTH GIVING STRATEGIES is a half-day workshop which introduces the art of self-care, its importance and place in our lives. Techniques and strategies are practised and shared, and ways of planning for a life worth living are considered. This process included exploring different aspects of life such as physical, mental, emotional, social and personal, and the cultural and spiritual aspects, along with any others that emerge.
These sessions are suitable for:
- People with lived experience of mental health challenges, their families, carers & friends
- Mental Health Workers and other professionals
- People with a genuine interest in this topic
