Internet use and safety 101 – for Support Workers
Attend this interesting, engaging and contemporary workshop, facilitated by Nigel Phair, Director of Canberra University’s Centre for Internet Safety, to learn more about how you can better assist the people with disability you are supporting to access the internet and ICTs.
You will explore:
- How to interact in the online environment in a safe, secure, ethical and legal manner
- Trends and issues associated with being online
- The risks and benefits of access the internet and ICTs
- Supporting people with disability to use the internet
- How to reduce the likelihood that you or the people you support are vulnerable when online or will suffer online crime, abuse or potential exploitation.
Who should attend
People in direct support roles – particularly within organisations providing accommodation supports.
