Costing and Pricing Community Services Workshops

The Department of Finance, Funding and Contracting Services Unit invite you to attend the Costing and Pricing Community Services Workshops.  The Delivering Community Services in Partnership (DCSP) Policy and associated procurement reforms support the sustainability of the not-for-profit community sector.

A key aspect of the reforms is for government agencies to no longer be the ‘price setter’ but to work collaboratively with the not-for-profit community sector to establish service outcomes and obtain sustainable prices from service providers. As a result, the not-for-profit community sector need to be aware of the DCSP Policy and the way that government agencies purchase community services, so that they can effectively consider how to cost their services and bid a sustainable price.

This session provides a general introduction to the key considerations for not-for-profit community sector organisations when costing and pricing their services.

These workshops will address:

  • governance principles of not-for-profit organisations;
  • understanding financial statements;
  • considerations for costing of community services; and
  • pricing for financial sustainability.

Key presenter Jon Petelczyc, Director of 2020 Global Business Consultants, has in excess of 20 years experience in providing business and consultancy services within the private and public sectors. Jon has worked in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in the financial sector, within education and as a consultant in several accounting, business consulting and advisory practices.

Who should attend

Staff from not-for-profit community services organisations who are currently, or are interested in providing community services on behalf of State Government. Whether you are involved in a Request for Quote or Tender process, including a Preferred Service Provider process, it is vital that you fully understand how much it costs you to deliver your services in order to bid a sustainable price.
