Managing Complaints: Get it Right

Over the past two years, and with the trials of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the disability services sector has increased its focus on issues of quality, human rights, safeguarding, and preventing abuse, neglect and harm of people with disability. This focus has led to research, state and national inquiries, and efforts to build organisational capacity to deliver quality personalised supports, and respond to concerns and complaints.

This practical half day workshop, as part of the NDSWA Quality and Safeguarding Development Program, will provide Disability Services Organisations with an opportunity to deepen the knowledge around best practice in complaints handling, management and resolution.

The workshop will cover:

  • Up-to-date information on requirements around complaints management.
  • Information and resources to assist you in:
    • developing policies and procedures in line with the National Standards for Disability Services, specifically Standard 4,
    • responding to complaints and supporting complainants through complaints processes; and
    • embedding a positive culture of complaints and safeguarding in your organisation.
